"City of Colors". Just look at all those hues!

The men and women of HHSSG 1 TAS BDE NCR assisted in providing security to the venue and to Tanauan City Mayor Antonio Halili. Hundreds of Tanauenos gathered to watch the exhilarating street dance competition and the parade of more than 30 LED-studded floats. A truly start-studded event, the Parade of Light’s judges included showbiz columnist Jobert Sucaldio and the one and only Superstar, Nora Aunor.  With the presence of the HHSSG 1 TAS BDE NCR, Tanauenos were able to enjoy the Parade without fearing for their safety.

We are men (and women) with a plan.

Creative and exciting, the street dance competition and the LED float parade were an amazing sight to behold - and they attracted hundreds of Tanauenos to enjoy the festivities.

Nora Aunor and Jobert Sucaldito are just some of the bigwigs in the panel of judges. Their presence definitely contributed to the huge volume of people who attended the event.

Hands-on Leadership: Commanding Officer COL ERIC C GARCHITORENA joins his troops in securing the crowd.

It was not only the Tanauenos who had their share of fun. Tanauan City is not called the City of Colors for nothing. The government buildings were painted with yellows, greens, and reds, complementing, the clear blue summer sky. The Parade of Light attracted vendors of different street food, ranging from the summer staple scramble (crushed ice in milk, nuts, and a healthy dose of chocolate syrup) to pink and purple cotton candy. The best experience, however, was that the locals who interacted with the HHSSG 1 TAS BDE NCR troops. Proud and happy to have the troops join their celebration, Tanauenos shared the rich history of their city.

To many people, service means sacrifice. While this cannot be denied, it can still be said that service to the people also has its many rewards. This experience is one of the many examples of the wonderful things being in the service can offer.

All smiles because service is its own reward.
