A (Not so Random) Act of Kindness

It started with an intriguing message by MSg Dexter Tiu: "All members of SARU are required to attend this Saturday. There will be an important event." Curious, the troops of course asked what was happening, but Master Tiu kept mum about it and we were left to our speculations. This was all a week ago.

Come 14 March, members of the HHSSG 1TAS BDE Search and Rescue Unit received a pleasant surprise: several parcels of orange long sleeve shirts with the SARU logo on it! We finally had our uniforms! Troops marveled at the bright color, the reflectorized sleeves (so spotting comrades is easy, even in low light situations), and the perfect fit - which, as SARU uniforms ought to be, means loose enough to move comfortably in. Some of us even modeled the shirts. They did not  only look good. The shirts felt good. Having them pumped the troops for search and rescue training and missions.

HHSSG - SARU members ready the SARU shirts for distribution.

A perfect fit: SARU member models his new shirt.

Needless to say it was a very happy day at the HHSSG 1TAS BDE NCR office that day.

The uniforms were donated by Mr. Nelson Dy, owner of Army Shirt Wear and, in our opinion, an all-around good guy. Thank you, sir! Saludo po kami sa inyo!
