Dengue is a disease caused by a Dengue Virus carried by a
female mosquito called “Aedes Egypti”. This medical condition may lead to death if not
treated. Until now, there is no cure for
dengue fever; it is only managed by addressing the presenting sign and symptoms.

Nowadays, dengue cases not only reach its peak on rainy seasons but
all year round. Aedes Egypti mosquitoes are day biters. The peak of their biting activities happen during sunrise and dusk. These mosquitoes lay eggs
on stagnant water, which may be present in our surroundings, be it our homes, schools, or places of work..
In order to prevent these
mosquitoes carrying virus at Armed Forces of the Philippines Reserve Command
(AFPRESCOM) the Headquarters and Headquarters Service Support Group, 1st
Technical and Administrative Brigade, NCR Commanding Officer COL Eric C
Garchitorena MC (GSC) donated 20 Liters eachof the Dynamaxx Enzymes (Dengue Buster)
and Dynamaxx – 2 Enzymes (Pure Plant Extract Deodorizer).

This Dengue Buster solution was
introduced by our Commanding Officer last January 2015 and had the approval of our AFPRESCOM Commander BGEN JOHNNY S
MACANAS to use for fogging AFPRESCOM grounds. The fogging activity
was supervised by of MAJ RUBEN T SALILING VC, CPT Arturo
Santos VC and MSG Dexter O Tiu PA (R ).
Aside from this activity, we
should be aware and concerned with our surroundings. Be responsible. Clean your
surroundings. As the old (but true) adage states, "Prevention is better than cure."
