Unity Walk: EDSA 29 People Power Revolution Anniversary

In 1986, the EDSA People Power happened; millions of people gathered to put an end to the 21-year Marcos' regime and dictatorship.

This event placed a huge mark in our history and showcased to the world the remarkable strength of the Filipino people  - when we gathered to begin with the new era of our democracy. Over the years, we are celebrating this occasion to honor the sacrifices of all people behind the true freedom and democracy.

Today, we celebrate the 29th year anniversary of EDSA People Power Revolution with the theme: “EDSA 29 Ituloy ang Pagbabago.”

The event started with a 7-minute “Peace and Unity Walk” by the members of Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) going to the People Power Monument.

The 1st Technical and Administrative Service Brigade, Headquarters and Headquarters Service Support Group (HHSSG) headed by our Commanding Officer COL ERIC C GARCHITORENA MC(GSC) graced the unity walk together with the officers and enlisted personnels of the said unit.

This unity walk would not have been possible without the command of BGEN JOHNNY L MACANAS, Commander, AFPRESCOM who gave the directive to 1st TAS Bde, HHSSG and other units who joined the walk.

Let me end this post with our Presidents message;

“Sa ngalan ng mga Pilipinong nakipaglaban sa EDSA, at sa lahat ng mga kababayan nating nagsakripisyo at patuloy na nagsasakripisyo para sa kapwa at bansa, ituloy natin ang laban tungo sa kapayapaan at kaunlarang matagal na nating inaasam.”
