The training, held for seven consecutive Saturdays, was aimed at increasing the competence of the members of the Search and Rescue Unit of the said brigade.

The trainees underwent rigorous activities such as rappelling, ascending, Tyrolean traverse, patient packaging, high angle rescue, and rope anchoring as part of their individual and group evaluations. Prior to the actual course, the trainees were also required to undergo training on emergency medical response (EMR). This is made a pre-requisite as Msg Gerardo Carual, SARUF’s President would always remind the participants that rescue is always 80% medical and 20% technical.

Col Jose H Narciso, Group Commander of the Technical Service Reserve Group keynoted the closing ceremony held at the Lapu-Lapu Hall, Headquarters AFP Reserve Command. He stressed out the importance of the said training to strengthen the command's manpower in responding to natural disasters and calamities. He also gave emphasis to Msg Carual's words when the latter presented the graduates that, "every able and willing Filipino should be responders and rescuers".

Out of the 20 graduates, 17 received Certificates of Completion, whereas 3 were given Certificates of Attendance.

The Headquarters & Headquarters Service Support Group, 1st Technical and Administrative Service Brigade NCR (R) is under the leadership of Col Eric C Garchitorena.
